About GURU AMAR DASS SCHOOL OF NURSING
Guru Amar Dass School of Nursing is recognized by Punjab Govt., Punjab Nurses Registration Council Chandigarh.
The Guru Amar Dass Educational Society (Regd.) Chandigarh, was established under the Society Registration Act (XXI of 1860). It was the dream of S.Inderjit Singh to impart quality education to girls in the field of Nursing in this backward area of the State.
His dream materialized when this Society established best private nursing institute ‘Guru Amar Dass School Of Nursing, Amritsar’ in September, 2002, with an intake of 50 students per year in three years Diploma Course of 'General Nursing & Midwifery' (G.N.M) for 10+2 graduated students. The intake capacity was increased from 50 to 60 in the year 2002. To fulfill the long cherished dream of S. Inderjit Singh the Society established the Guru Amar Dass School Of Nursing at Amritsar (Distt. Punjab (India) with an intake capacity of 50 students per year in four years degree course of Bachelor of Science in nursing (B.Sc. Nursing). Guru Amar Dass School Of Nursing is recognized by Punjab Government, Punjab Nurses Registration Council Chandigarh, Indian Nursing Council New Delhi .
The Government of Punjab had granted ‘Essentiality Certificate’ in the year 2004, to start Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) programme at Guru Amar Dass School Of Nursing, at Amritsar with an intake of 25 students. Accordingly, Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) programme was started from the academic session. This programme is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.
The Society has also started another sister institute ‘Guru Amar Dass School of Nursing, Amritsar (Distt. Punjab) to give training to G.N.M. and A.N.M students.
Clinical training is given in Government Medical College, hospitals managed by Punjab Health Systems Corporation, Chandigarh and eminent private hospitals in the region.
The students are especially benefited by the variety of teaching materials, thanks to the hospital's rural hinterland.
The college provides excellent campus life with hostel facilities, canteen and a good cafeteria. Besides, a number of students do commute from nearby areas and from Hyderabad, by specially deployed student buses
